The Kerala High Court has directed not to publish the results of the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) Entrance Exam which is scheduled to be held on August 5. The results are expected to be published in September.
The high court has restrained from publishing the results, however, it has allowed the KEAM exam to be held on its pre-decided schedule.
The court ordered a stay on results after a petition was filed in the high court by Salvia Hussain of Kollam, Sibi Wilson of Enath and an organization of CBSE school managements.
The petition says that the 12th class marks should not rely upon for admissions being done on the basis of KEAM as this year CBSE and ICSE were not held due to the pandemic situation. Hence, in Kerala, the medical and engineering admissions should be conducted without relying on the marks scored in the 12th class. Also, the petitioners added that the way plus two marks were given this year doesn't assess the academic levels of the students.
The high court issued a stay until the state government informs the court of its decision on the issue.
