Guidelines and Instructions Printed on the GATE 2025 Admit Card
- An electronic copy of the GATE admit card will not be accepted. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the hall ticket on A4-size paper.
- A valid photo ID proof (such as Aadhaar card, Voter ID, PAN card, or passport) must be carried to the exam hall, incase the photo quality printed on the admit card is poor.
- Candidates must report to the exam center 90 minutes before the exam time. Candidates will not be allowed to login 30 minutes after the exam.
- Candidates can log in and start reading the instructions 20 minutes before the start of the exam.
- Virtual scientific calculators will be available on the candidate's computer.
- Personal calculators, mobile phones, pagers, charts, smart watches, or any kind of electronic device are not allowed in the exam centre.
- A scribble pad will be provided for rough work. Candidates must write their name and registration number before using it. If the scribble pad gets filled, the applicant gets another scribble pad after returning the previous one to the invigilator.
- Candidates must bring their pen and pencil and a transparent water bottle.
- PwD candidates may bring their assistive devices. They must show it to the exam centre for scrutiny.
- No personal belongings, such as wallets, snacks, etc., are allowed in the GATE examination hall.
- Candidates cannot leave the exam hall before the end of the exam.
- PwD candidates who have been granted one-hour compensatory time are allowed to leave the examination hall after the session by clicking the submit button in the presence of the invigilator.
