Jamia Millia Academic Calendar 2020-21: Last date to submit application forms extended to May 31

Jamia Millia Islamia released a new academic calendar for the upcoming session, the new session for the upcoming batch will begin from September 1.

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) released a new academic year calendar 2020-21 for new admissions. JMI conducted an important meeting of the Academic Council (AC) of the University through 'Google Meet' on Wednesday i.e. May 6, 2020. According to the official press release published by the university, the 4-hour long meeting was the first-ever meeting conducted through online mode in the history of the university. The meeting was attended by the University Vice-Chancellor Professor Najma Akhtar, Registrar Mr A.P. Siddiqui(IPS), Deans and other members of the council.

In the meeting, the JMI academic council took the decision to release a new academic calendar for the upcoming batch. According to the information available in the official press release, the new session for the upcoming batch will begin from September 1, 2020. The new academic calendar 2020-21 that the university decided for the new admissions is given below:

Meanwhile, the panel of the meeting also discussed a number of academic issues and major changes in university education in view of the COVID-19. Some of the major decisions that the Jamia Academic Council took in the meeting are related to the ongoing batch of the University. The important points decided in the meeting are listed below: 

• The University will conduct online classes until May 31, 2020. Earlier it was scheduled to finish by April 30.
• The Last date to submit the assignment is extended to June 5, 2020.
• All teachers are requested to upload the assignment marks/internal assessment marks by June 15, 2020, on the website of the Controller of Examinations of the university.
• The examination will be conducted for the final semester/year students only. The University will conduct exams offline from July 1 to July 31. Students are requested to submit online examination forms as early as possible.
• The summer vacations at the university will begin from June 15 to June 30.
• The university will re-open and begin classes for regular students from August 1.
