CAT 2020 registration process has been extended till September 23. IIM Indore has introduced changes in CAT exam pattern too. Check details below.

CAT 2020 registration

The CAT 2020 registration process which was scheduled to end on September 16, has been extended till September 23. The candidates who are yet to register or fill their CAT 2020 application form must complete the process by 5 PM on September 23. The examination body released the notification saying the registration dates have been extended keeping in mind "disruptions caused by COVID during the CAT 2020) registration period and the continuing difficulty faced by candidates in procuring the documentation necessary for timely registration".

CAT exam is scheduled for November 29 and the admit cards will be released on October 28. CAT 2020 admit cards will be issued to only those candidates who would have successfully registered for the exam. CAT 2020 will be conducted in two slots, 9 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM at multiple exam centres in 156 cities. This year, the candidates have been given the option to choose up to six cities for CAT exam centre allotment.

After the closure of CAT registration window, the form correction window will be opened for candidates to make changes in their CAT 2020 application form. The window will remain open for a brief period during which, candidates can edit the following fields:

  1. Photograph
  2. Signature
  3. Test City Preferences

This year, CAT exam will be held in three slots and the exam duration has been reduced from 180 minutes to 120 minutes. Read more

How to Register for CAT 2020 Exam?

CAT application form can be filled in online mode only. Given below is the step-by-step process to fill the CAT 2020 application form

  • Open the official CAT website in a new window (iimcat.ac.in)
  • Click on CAT 2020 registration
  • Enter name, date of birth, email ID, phone number and nationality
  • Click to generate OTP
  • An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number  
  • Verify registration by entering the OTP in the given field 
  • After verification, login in again using the CAT ID
  • Enter fields with required information
  • Upload scanned photograph and signature
  • Select MBA programmes and IIM institutes
  • Select cities as preference for CAT exam centre
  • Make fee payment via net banking or credit/debit card
