COVID-19 Impact: DU allows access to library resources from home

Delhi University has announced that students can now access library resources while being at home through a VPN, to avoid any study loss, during this period when universities are kept closed until March 31.

  While all the universities around the country have been shut down due to a novel coronavirus outbreak, Delhi University (DU) has given access to students to use library resources from home. The University of Delhi students can now avail available library resources by visiting any browser through a Virtual Private Network (VPN). 

In order to establish a VPN connection, all students must know their respective DU wifi password and username. This facility is available only for those who have the membership of Delhi University Library. In case of any trouble, students can write a complaint or query email to vpn@ducc.du.in.

All classes, internal assessments, and house examinations were suspended by the university earlier until March 31, as a precautionary measure to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

The university has started online classes for the students from March 12, to avoid any disruption of academic learning. Various colleges of Delhi University has also started uploading study material on a weekly basis on their website. Several other universities around the country have opted for online classes to keep students engaged and avoid any kind of study loss. 

 Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University have started using Google Hangouts and video conferencing services, to regulate online classrooms. Ashoka University has also started taking classes for the students through Google Meet and Zoom as per the regular timetable.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the nation, has announced a complete lockdown of the country in order to fight the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
