For the candidates preparing for competitive exams, lockdown is the most precious time for pursuing, says Gaurav

These are first-hand student accounts on how our young population is managing to keep their exam prep or college course work going from the confines of their homes. In case you want to share your lockdown study experience, write to us at publish@shiksha.com.

If you are following the recent news in the current scenario, you all will be well aware of Coronavirus, the ‘pandemic’. The impact it has on the human race can be easily tracked through statistics getting all around the world in terms of its impact. So today, I will be discussing my lockdown story with you all guys and with respect to my preparation schedule.

If someone is comparing online classes with brick or mortar classes (students can participate in hands-on learning, interact with their professors and classmates), brick classes are far better then online classes as students are focused throughout the classes with optimum control and supervision from faculty and at the same time cut-throat competition from classmates.

Students are actually switching their laptop just for the sake of attendance and sitting ideally and doing other stuff which they think it is crucial for them. If you ask me, I will prefer the traditional method that is offline classes any time as you will never get the environment of learning in online studies.

Leisure times not only for me but for individuals all around the globe include reading books, watching movies, Netflix, indoor sports, home workout, hanging around with family members cooking, and various other hobbies individuals are pursuing. After prioritizing the day-to-day activities for each subject, I am personally giving 30 minutes as a whole and focusing more on numerical based subjects like Financial Derivatives, Microfinance, Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, etc.

The college hasn’t announced a specific date for the exams but I am sure it will be later than usual. For the time being, I am just waiting for exams to conduct quickly so that I can join the company and start working as soon as I can. For the candidates preparing for competitive exams, this is one most precious time for pursuing what you always wanted to and for all individuals blaming their work pressure for not pursuing their passion, now they will get enough amount of time for discovering and strengthening their skills.

Since I have completed my Masters from Kerala (God’s own country) so I have a bundle of stories to tell and my family is having enough time to listen to me as well. We as a family never got ample time to spend with each other for a very long time. Not only me but even my parents are actually sharing their college and school stories of the 80s as well.

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst!
