Q. What were the GD topics at the time of your admission?
The topic was Social Networking and their pros and cons. Also, they asked about issues related to social media.
Q. What were the focus areas during your GD?
I discussed the advantages and disadvantages of social media'. One cant repeat what they say so I also kept this in my mind during my GD.
Q. What methods did you use to prepare for your GD & PI?
I referred to various websites and sought information from Google. I also watched YouTube videos. There is a channel named CAT preparations which was quite helpful for me.
Q. Did you take any help (coaching centers/materials) to prepare for your GD?
No, I did not take any coaching classes but surfed the internet and watched YouTube videos.
Q. How many panelists & participants were there?
There were 3 panelists and 10 participants.
Q. Who were the panelists in your GD & PI? How difficult were they to tackle? What was your overall strategy to tackle the panel and what worked?
Panelists were from the placement cell. One was a registrar and the other one was an HR. There was a mix of participants, few of them were experienced and few were fresh graduates.
Q. What were the questions asked in your PI?
They asked me about my background, my education, my professional career and why I wanted to do an MBA. They also asked me the difference between a manager and a leader.
Q. Did you happen to panic at any given pint of time during the GD & PI? Any particular moment in which you wanted to go back and change or may perform better?
Yes, I panicked when they asked me why I wanted to pursue MBA. I panicked because my background is entirely different, I did BCA earlier and the faculty then suggested me to do MCA. My answer was that I want to do marketing further and that’s why I want to do MBA.
Q. How was your overall GD & PI experience?
It was good. The panelists were supportive. This was my first GD & PI experience and all the panelists were from army background. I really liked the college.
Q. What tips do you have for the aspirants appearing for GD & PI?
They should read newspapers for current affairs and must watch YouTube motivational videos and also learn CAT tips and tricks from YouTube.
Q. What is the one lesser-known fact about GD & PI?
The topics involved in GD & PI are totally unpredictable. Even the participants are from a different background and a few of them will be experienced.
