In the third or final cluster of IIMA's summer placements, more than 50 firms participated. The Reserve Bank of India, Atlassian, BPCL, DuPont, Everest Instruments and Oracle participated in the recruitment process. Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the placement session was conducted virtually, for the first time.
In a “cluster-cohort” based hiring process, companies offering similar profiles were grouped into 11 cohorts – banking and insurance, financial services, consumer technology, core manufacturing and infrastructure, education and technology, enterprise and technology, food and dairy, government enterprises, analytics and IT consulting, renewable energy and green tech and social enterprises and NGOs.
Firms like Info Edge, People Interactive, Razorpay and PayU participated in the consumer and technology cohort. Enterprise and technology cohort consisted of companies like Adobe, Atlassian Corporation, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle and Sprinklr, while the renewable energy and green technology cohort saw participation from Amplus Solar and ReNew Power. The Reserve Bank of India, ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank participated in the banking and insurance sector.
In the previous cluster, 40 recruiters hired IIMA students, with Amazon alone recruiting 14 students for internships. In the first cluster, 50 companies participated.
