The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta started its residential MBA programme online. According to the statement released by the premiere institute, the programme will be conducted online during the lockdown period. The official statement further stated that the one-year residential course was launched by Director of the IIM-C, Professor Anju Seth on April 20, following an online address by the chairperson of the institute, Professor Manju Jaiswal.
One of India’s prominent management institute is confident about its “Covidian Batch.” It also believes that the online programme will be a success. According to the statement, there are 68 students from 20 industrial sectors in the current batch. The institute is confident that the "Covidian batch" will prove itself.
To prevent the academic loss, IIM Calcutta developed efficient online programmes for its students. Talking about its student-friendly online courses, IIM-C said, “We have worked seamlessly to plan, develop and deliver online courses to ensure the timely commencement of the programmes while ensuring students.''
Talking about re-opening the campus after the lockdown period, Professor Anju Seth said, “Post-lockdown, we will review the situation and follow advisories of the central and state governments to resume classes on campus while keeping our students safe."
Appreciating the steps taken by the institute to make sure that students’ learning process is not compromised, one of the IIM –C students stated, “The first thing the corporate world teaches us is adherence to deadlines. IIM, Calcutta has differentiated itself from other institutes by starting the course on time by going online amid the lockdown."
