Mystory@Hasan Rangoonwala: How I chose my course and college
I chose Commerce stream as I was fascinated with business from a very early age and wanted to be an entrepreneur. Pursuing commerce in Class XI and XII was the first step towards realizing my dreams and I scored well in Board exams too.
I chose BBA in Graduation to gain more knowledge about business and passed with flying colours.
I pursued MBA to enhance my professional skills and to gain learn how run a business and how to take quick decisions in difficult circumstances. MBA also helped me in developing my communication and presentation skills. I think MBA is best for developing professional qualities in oneself.
I chose RIIM to pursue MBA because it is a good platform to develop oneself, holistically. After spending six month is this college I can definitely say that my confidence grew about 60% and I can see improvement in me with each passing day.
My college environment is too good. Lots of activities and industrial visits take place. We have lots of fun while learning.
RIIM has experienced faculties from renowned colleges like Symbiosis, MIT, Balaji etc. The faculty is highly experienced thus we don’t face difficulty in understanding topics. These are the reason behind choosing this college.
How I cracked college admission
I appeared for CMAT as one has to take various entrance exams for pursuing MBA from a reputed college. Though I scored less in CMAT, I managed to get admission in RIIM. I prepared for CMAT by myself. At RIIM, two interview rounds were. In the first round, I was interviewed by the administrators of the college and in the second round, I was interviewed by our director. In the interviews, I was asked questions related to general awareness and general knowledge question and also the standard -- Why you want to do MBA?
I had applied to few other colleges too, but found RIIM the best because it gives extra certificated courses that are extremely valuable in the future.
Compared to other college I found something more in this college and that is, value for money. What we are paying to the college is worth the knowledge we are gaining from it.
After spending more than six month in this college, I can surely say that there is a lot of improvement in me. I lacked self-confidence and my communication skills were also poor but gradually I am improving.
What I gained from my college life
It has almost been a year at RIIM and my experience has been very pleasing and enjoyable. Each day has taught me a number of lessons. I have learnt presentation skills, how to work in team and how to take effective decisions which are very necessary in the corporate world.
I do not skip any class. However if I have to choose one class that I like the most, then it has to be PDGA class. In this class we are taught a number of pertinent qualities viz. public speaking, presentation skills, debates, mock interviews, role plays etc. PDGA classes have helped gain confidence and open up in front of others.
If I get an opportunity I would like to be a part of the placement assistance cell (PAC) of RIIM.
Daily activities at RIIM have brought complete transformation in me. It has made me focus on my weaknesses, convert those into strengths and sharpen my skills in every possible way. I am grateful to RIIM for grooming me and teaching me all the necessary things to make a mark in the corporate world.
