Sometimes destiny keeps surprises under the cover and believe me, it turns out to be amazing: Nishtha Chaturvedi
I would have been a professional singer or a chef, if not an engineer by qualification, and a future manager. Nevertheless, sometimes destiny hides surprises under the cover and believe me, it turns out to be amazing.
I always wanted to opt science and pursue engineering as I was born to be a science freak; no matter how hard integration and differentiation was to keep my schooling adventurous but I enjoyed every single bit of it. Post my 12th board exams, I appeared for all the competitive exams from UPTU to IIT and since I was learning music while studying near my home, my preference was to join an engineering college nearby. Fortunately, I got selected in Hindustan College of Science & Technology, Mathura which is one of the top engineering colleges under UPTU and enrolled myself in B-Tech (IT). Studying at Hindustan College of Science & Technology was a true learning experience that not only contributed to developing technical knowledge but also facilitated personality development that helped me in campus recruitment drives.
Like any other student, I was excited to start my career with a job in an MNC with a handsome package but life had another plan for me. During my last semester, I faced a tragic turning point when I lost my mother and because of family responsibilities, I was required to stay at home for almost 2 years. It was a really tough phase, not only emotionally and mentally but professionally as well, as I was away from all the available opportunities. I also tried to crack government job exams but all efforts went in vain even after being very close to crack them. To be very honest, I consistently worked harder than before, unaware about something far better to happen when Jaypee Business School happened in my life. Realizing about my potential managerial skills, I decided to pursue MBA which could redefine my career prospects.
Since I had appeared for government job exams, I was sound in aptitude and with self-study, I was able to crack MAT February 2018 with 97.5 percentile. While searching for good MBA colleges and after cracking many GD/PI of various colleges, a friend suggested Jaypee Business School, Noida. Fortunately, I cracked GD/PI of JBS as well and among multiple admission offer letters JBS, became my final choice and believe me friends, that is the best decision I made, as JBS makes you, shapes you and grooms you more than what you could ever imagine.
An aspiration to become a manager was an overnight decision and so was the preparation. I was decent in aptitude and so just appeared for MAT Feb 2018 with no coaching classes and cracked it in one shot with 97.5 percentile.
Jaypee Business School was suggested to me by one of my friends and the decision to imply on the advice turned worth it. Though I tried for many colleges and was successful in cracking most of them, I chose to take admission in JBS. The GD/PI of JBS was very interesting. Group Discussion comprised of three activities for which a topic was given. First was to write our views on a sheet of paper for checking our written skills, second activity was to brief our points one by one in 60 seconds to assess our briefing capabilities and the third activity was to have an interactive group discussion while addressing and interacting with team members cohesively to assess various interpersonal skills.
The emphasis for selection was on content, communication skills, precision and coordination with the group members. After group discussion, there was an interview round in which basic questions were asked like, introduce yourself, why JBS should select you, what two traits you think you have strong enough to be a part of JBS, etc. Assessment of the interview was on the basis of the confidence level, patience and communication skills.
Regarding aptitude preparation, all you need is basic coaching and more of regular practice. The more you exercise technically and mentally in solving aptitude problems, the greater the efficiency to crack the exam. For GD/PI keep yourself aware of current affairs and work on your communication skills and personality.
College life is the best life of any person and I am blessed to relive those moments again. Its like reincarnation. Jaypee Business School is a reservoir of talent and knowledge facilitated with everything a student needs to grow. I cherish every single moment in JBS as I gain experiential learning through our highly skilled learning facilitators. With an objective to make a digital India, we the students have been provided with digital classes which enhance the education and learning and makes things exciting and fun. Being a marketing student, I love to attend marketing classes but additionally, all the functional streams are given professional skills classes which is very interesting and valuable as it teaches us business etiquettes, leadership skills, stress management, teamwork, etc. in form of role plays, group activities, games and many more.
There is an intense scope of grooming ourselves by getting a good number of opportunities in extracurricular activities. Ranging from guest lecture to sports day and further to college fest, ethnic night, there is a lot to enjoy. Since I am fond of singing, I sang a couple of times in college extra-curricular activities. The college is popular for its annual fest known as “Impressions” which is a two-day event with lots of fun and enjoyment while having well-known artists on stage who perform and entertain the audience with their exemplary talent.
I must say that being a professional not only means being a ranker and tech savvy but also to develop and groom in totality; in short being a perfect package of knowledge, soft skills, confident and vibrant personality, and good technical and managerial skills. JBS is a platform which provides you with an ocean to dive in and sail over with success and growth.
About the Author:
Simplicity is a word which defines me inside out and if to elaborate a little, the complete definition about myself lies intact in my name. Yes, my name Nishtha, which means dedication; dedication to outstand and outshine and leave no stone unturned with my toil and moil.
Apart from the shortest definition, there is something more musical and delicious in my personality and that is a music worm in me which makes me a mellifluous singer and a cooking crab in me which keeps me craving towards food. In short, I am a trained singer and a qualified chef.
I am a very interactive and extrovert person who has learnt to be strong and emotionally intelligent over the time which carried a lot of thick and thin.
I am pursuing MBA from Jaypee Business School, Noida.
