After the clarification from the Union Minister surfaced, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has also released a notification stating that JEE Main and NEET 2020 will be conducted on the scheduled dates in September. The notification released on August 25 clearly states that NTA had postponed the examination twice this year owing to the COVID-19 situation, but the new dates for NEET 2020 have been decided keeping the academic interests of students in mind.
NTA quotes the judgment of the Supreme Court of India in the notification, “We find that there is absolutely no justification in the prayer made for postponement of the examination in question relating to NEET UG-2020 as well as JEE (Main) April, 2020”. It also mentions that the number of NEET 2020 exam centres has been increased to 3843, which was originally 2546. To ensure social distancing among the test-takers of NEET 2020, each room in the exam centre will accommodate only 12 candidates as opposed to the previous capacity of 24.

To avoid overcrowding outside the examination hall, the entry and exit will be staggered. NTA has also assured the candidates that adequate arrangements will be made to ensure their safety. The state governments have also been asked to cooperate and support the students on the exam day.
NTA has requested the cooperation of both, students and their parents, on NEET 2020 exam day. All candidates are advised to read the ‘Dos and don’ts for social distancing’ issued by NTA.
Notification released by NTA:
Advance information about NEET 2020 exam centres was made available to the students on August 21. Candidates can check the exam city allotted to them by logging into their accounts on ntaneet.nic.in. NEET 2020 admit card will be released on August 29 (tentatively).
