NEET 2020 postponed by HRD Minister, New exam date is September 13
Bringing an end to the speculations and uncertainty around NEET 2020 exam dates, the HRD Minister has announced the final verdict. NEET 2020 to be conducted on September 13.
Dr Ramesh Pokriyal ‘Nishank’, the Union Minister for Human Resource and Development, has postponed the NEET 2020 exam dates. The examination will now be conducted on September 13. Dr Pokriyal had announced yesterday that the exam dates are being reviewed with the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The decision to postpone NEET 2020 was taken after thousands of students protested against the examination being conducted amidst an ongoing pandemic. The announcement of the new NEET 2020 exam dates was welcomed by the student community. Expressing their gratitude, the students have started using a new hashtag on Twitter, #thankuNTAandHRD.

The parents of NEET 2020 aspirants, residing in Middle Eastern countries, had also filed in a plea in the Supreme Court of India. The parents demanded new NEET 2020 exam centres in the Gulf countries or for the exam to be postponed. The decision to move the NEET 2020 date to September 13 has come as a relief to these parents as well.

About NEET 2020
NEET 2020 was originally scheduled for May 3. The examination was postponed to July 26 due to the spread of novel coronavirus in India and the resultant lockdown. After Unlock 1.0 was implemented, the number of COVID-19 cases began to increase. This raised concerns among the students who were to appear for NEET 2020, leading to the demand for the exam date to be postponed further.
What Next?
NTA will release the NEET 2020 admit card at least 15 days before the exam date. NEET admit card 2020 will be issued to only those candidates whose applications were submitted in time. The exact dates for the release of the admit card will be announced later. NTA has reactivated the correction window for NEET 2020 up to July 15. Candidates can also use the correction window to modify their exam city preferences.
