Bringing some relief to NEET 2020 aspirants, the new exam date has been announced. However, there are still many questions as to how the authorities will conduct NEET 2020 in the presence of COVID-19.

NEET-2020

NEET 2020, originally scheduled to be held on May 3, was postponed due to the spread of novel coronavirus in India. After a long wait, the authorities have finally announced the NEET 2020 new exam date to be July 26. But with the announcement of the new exam dates for NEET 2020, the challenges for the competent authorities have just begun. The post-COVID world—where social distancing is the new normal—is making things difficult for the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the largest medical entrance test in India. It is also the only entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical courses in India. These are the reasons why almost 16 lakh candidates are expected to appear for NEET 2020. Being an offline examination, NEET 2020 will have to be conducted at the same time across the nation. NTA will also have to ensure the safety of the students who appear for NEET 2020.

Safety Measures for NEET 2020

Abiding by the guidelines formed by the Central Government, NTA will ensure that the candidates are seated two metres apart from each other during the examination. To accomplish this, NTA has planned to another 3000 test centres for NEET 2020. This will double the number of NEET test centres and will help avoid overcrowding at a centre.

However, finding another 3000 centres for the examination will take about a month. NTA prefers CBSE affiliated schools, government colleges and Kendriya Vidyalayas as the test centres for NEET.

When can you expect the NEET 2020 admit card?

Given the current situation, the NEET admit card 2020 is not expected to be out any time before the second week of June. Students preparing for NEET 2020 are advised to keep a track of the events related to the examination during this period.
