NEET 2021 Paper Leak: 8 people arrested from Jaipur
Eight people have been arrested from Jaipur in connection with the alleged NEET-UG 2021 paper leak at one of the exam centres in the city.
After the National Testing Agency (NTA) dismissed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) NEET-UG 2021 paper leak rumours few hours before the examination this Sunday, eight people have been arrested in Jaipur related to the NEET examination paper leak.
NEET 2021 was held on September 12 (Sunday) from 2 pm to 5 pm. The paper was allegedly leaked from the Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology (RIET) NEET exam centre in Jaipur at 2:30 pm through Whatsapp. The mastermind was found to be Coaching Director Navratna Swamy. The paper leak was executed in exchange for Rs 35 lakh.
As per reports, an 18-year-old candidate Dhaneshwari Yadav was sent to jail while others were taken on remand. The exam centre's invigilator Ram Singh was also found to be involved in the paper leak.
News-18 quoted Dhaneshwari Yadav, “The men (in Sikar) forwarded the answer key to the two men in Chitrakoot who then forwarded it to Mukesh. Mukesh then forwarded it to Singh. Singh helped Dineshwari solve the paper with the help of the answer key."
NEET-UG was conducted across 3,855 exam centres on Sunday for admission to various undergraduate medical and paramedical courses in India.
The total number of colleges providing admission through NEET 2021 is 1,613 colleges for 83,075 MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) seats, 27,285 BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) seats, 52,720 BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery) seats, 525 BVSc & AH (Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry) seats.
