Speculations over the delay of NEET 2020 have been around for a while now. Adding to these, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has delayed the release of the NEET 2020 admit card. According to a senior official at NTA, the admit card of NEET 2020 will not be released on the scheduled date, March 27. The new date for the release of NEET admit card 2020 will be announced only after the evaluation of the COVID-19 situation in India on April 14.

NEET admit card 2020 is a very important document for admission purposes. First, every candidate needs to present the admit card of NEET 2020 on the day of the examination. Without the NEET 2020 admit card a candidate will not be allowed to appear for the examination. Also, it is a mandatory submission during the counselling process. Absence of NEET admit card 2020 may lead to disqualification from the admission process.

Why can NEET 2020 be postponed?

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) which is scheduled to be held on May 3, may also be affected by the nation-wide lockdown in India. Though the lockdown ends on April 14 getting back to what was considered normal, a month ago, will take time. For NEET 2020 to be conducted on May 3, a lot things including transportation, logistics and security services need to go back to as they were. However, a nation that ceased to function for 21 days might require a little longer to be able to go back to how it used to be.

Also, for NEET 2020 to be held on the scheduled date many candidates will have to travel to reach their exam centres. This would require travel reservations to be made in advance. So in all likelihood, NEET 2020 can be postponed to June.
