Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate nine medical colleges in districts of Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Ghazipur, Deoria, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Hardoi, Etah, and Siddharthnagar.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has promised medical colleges in each UP district before the Assembly election. His government is working towards taking the health infrastructure in the state to the next level with not much disparity between health services in the rural and urban areas of the state.

Lately, Uttar Pradesh was getting all set for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the poll-bound state and inaugurate nine medical colleges in the state. Today, PM Modi will visit UP to inaugurate the nine medical colleges in the state and also launch several development projects here.

PM Modi will inaugurate the nine medical colleges in the districts of Siddharthnagar, Mirzapur, Ghazipur, Deoria, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Hardoi, Etah, and Jaunpur. He will inaugurate these medical colleges from Siddharthnagar and later will launch "Pradhan Mantri Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana" (PMASBY) in Varanasi, as stated in the PMO statement. He will also launch many development projects worth more than INR 5,200 crore.

PMASBY is aiming to reduce the gaps in public health infrastructure in urban and rural areas, especially in emergency care facilities. PMO statement said that for strengthening the healthcare infrastructure of the country, in addition to the National Health Mission, PMASBY will be the largest pan-India scheme. It will support 17,788 rural health and wellness centres in 10 high focus states. Moreover, 11,024 urban health and wellness centres will be established in all the states.

PMO said, under this scheme, a national institution for one health, a regional research platform for WHO South-East Asia Region, four new national institutes for virology, nine biosafety level-III laboratories and five new regional national centres for disease control will be established. 

The objective of the PMASBY is to provide emergency care services in all districts of the country through exclusive critical care hospital blocks.
