Rajasthan, UP aim to get medical colleges in each district
Rajasthan and UP are all set to get new medical colleges in various districts of these states. Rajasthan Chief Minister Office(CMO) tweeted that, "Rajasthan is the first state in the country which is working towards establishing medical colleges in each district. In such scenario, completing the approved medical colleges is a priority with the government."
UP is also geared up to increase the number of medical colleges in the state. On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the 16 districts in the state without any medical colleges will get new colleges in the next six months.
"After 70 years of Independence, there were 12 state medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh. With the co-operation of the Centre and the state government using its own resources, in 2020-21, around 32 medical colleges were built or were given approval," stated CM Yogi Adityanath.
"In 16 districts, where there are no medical colleges, the state government is planning to establish medical colleges through the PPP mode in the next six months," he added.
During the inspection of Maharshi Devraha Baba Medical College, the CM said that in the coming future, all 75 districts in UP will have a medical college.
