Before the release of the TANCET notification, Shiksha.com conducted a poll to analyse the mode of exam preferred by the aspirants. The poll revealed a significant preference for the online mode. Out of 255 poll participants, 53 per cent expressed a preference for the online exam. The primary reason cited for this preference was the convenience of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

Despite the preference for online exams, a substantial portion of the respondents, 34 per cent, still favored the traditional offline exam. The main concern for these candidates might be an additional effort required to familiarise themselves with the software used for the online exam, which could add to their preparation burden.

Out of the total votes, 7 per cent accounted for the candidates who feel that there should be an option to choose between online and offline modes. Meanwhile, 5 per cent of the poll respondents stated that they were comfortable with either mode of the TANCET exam.

Currently, Anna University conducts the TANCET exam in an offline mode at designated test centres using OMR sheets. The poll results indicate a growing inclination towards online TANCET exam, highlighting the need for a potential shift in the exam mode. TANCET 2025 will be held in an offline mode. Candidates can expect a change in the future sessions.
