NEET 2021 was postponed from August 1 to September 12, now the students are again demanding to further postpone the exams to October.

In the wake of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of India postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG exam which was scheduled to be held on August 1 to September 12. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct the examination on September 12. However, as the date is nearing, students are demanding to again postpone the medical entrance exam. Although the Covid-19 cases have reduced across the country, there is still the fear of a third wave.

This year more than 16 lakh students have registered for the NEET-UG exam. The number of registrations has considerably increased in the last five years and the number of female candidates has also seen a significant increase.

NEET exam is conducted in 13 languages which include 12 Indian languages. The preference for the Indian languages for the NEET exam has also gone up. Several students have opted for the Hindi language this year and other Indian languages which students are preferring for the NEET exam are Gujarati, Bengali, and Tamil.

#shiftNEETUG is trending today on Twitter, here are the tweets of some of the students demanding for postponement of NEET-UG:
