1.59 Candidates Selected by UPSC, SSC & IBPS During 2020-21 & 2021-22

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh said that 1,59,615 were recruited by UPSC, SSC and IBPS during 2020-21 and 2021-22. The Minister also said that the recruitment in the Central government continued even during COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020-21, a total of 96,601 candidates were selected by SSC, IBPS and UPSC for its various vacancies. In 2021-22, a total of 63,014 candidates were selected by SSC, IBPS and UPSC through various exams.

There were over 9.79 lakh vacant posts in the Central government as on March 1, 2021, of which 23,584 are Group A posts, 1.18 lakh Group B posts and 8.36 lakh Group C posts.
