10 Central Universities exempted from CUET this year only

The second phase of the CUET-UG has begun today, as the entrance exams will be held on August 4, 5 and 6, 7, 8, 10 and 20.

Some of the universities located in North-East and hilly regions have been exempted from the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) this year. These 10 universities have been allowed to take admission in their affiliated colleges as per the past practice for the year 2022-23 only.

The second phase of the CUET-UG has begun today, as the entrance exams will be held on August 4, 5 and 6, 7, 8, 10 and 20.

As per the information shared by the Education Ministry in Rajya Sabha, a total of 10 universities located in the North East and hilly regions of Uttarakhand have been exempted from CUET this year. The universities are: Sikkim University, Rajiv Gandhi University, Manipur University, Assam University, Tezpur University, Nagaland University, Tripura University, Mizoram University, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) as well as Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU)

As per the information shared by the Ministry of Education, in pursuance of the National Education Policy, 2020, Given the operational difficulties in some of the Central Universities in the North Eastern Region as well as HNBGU have been allowed to take admission in their affiliated colleges as per the past practice for the year 2022-23 only.
Around 44 central universities, including Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will admit students to their undergraduate courses based on CUET scores.

CUET is optional for State and Private Universities, however, 12 state government-run universities, 21 private and 13 deemed universities have also adopted the CUET-UG 2022.
