The two teachers, who were on duty in two examination centres in Jajpur district of Odisha, were caught using mobile phones during an inspection by district education official Ranjan Giri.

Two invigilators have been suspended for allegedly using mobile phones in examination halls during Class X summative assessment tests in Jajpur district of Odisha.  The two teachers, who were on duty in two examination centres in Jajpur, were caught using mobile phones during an inspection by district education official Ranjan Giri.

The education official said, “The two teachers have been suspended with immediate effect.” The superintendents and the deputy superintendents of the two examination centres have also been served show-cause notices, the official said.

According to the standard operating procedure, no one, except the centre superintendent, can carry cell phones to the examination hall, Giri said. Invigilators and others are required to hand over their mobile phones to the centre in-charge half an hour before the start of examinations. The Board of Secondary Education is conducting the first summative examination for Class X students and tests started on Wednesday.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a public advisory warning students against a piece of fake news circulating on some of the online media platforms regarding CBSE Term 2 Board Exams 2022. The advisory released by CBSE reads, “It has been noticed that a few online media platforms are circulating incorrect information and confusing audiences, using expressions such as Breaking News about major exam pattern changes in class X and XII, Term 2 Board exams.” The Board clarified that the format for the term 2 exams will remain the same, as mentioned in circular number 51, dated July 5, 2021.
