In order to combat, contain and manage the spread of COVID-19 infections, the institute took a pro-active approach and created isolation areas within the campus itself for the infected.

The ferociously spreading COVID-19 pandemic caught the students of one of the prestigious b-schools in India. According to the reports, the college authorities have informed that twenty-two students from the XLRI-School of Management have tested positive for the COVID-19 infection, while test reports for another 100 are still awaited. Amid the increasing number of novel coronavirus cases, XLRI, in collaboration with East Singhbhum District Administration conducted random COVID tests on resident students worrying about an alarming spike in coronavirus infections in the steel city of Jamshedpur.

In order to combat, contain and manage the spread of COVID-19 infections, the institute took a pro-active approach and created isolation areas within the campus itself for the infected. Students who tested positive were isolated in the MDP Residence of the Campus with self-contained rooms and room service facilities. The institute made the arrangements for medical supplies, food and counseling for the students quarantined after getting tested positive. These arrangements were made following guidelines and directions issued by the Government of Jharkhand.

Reports suggest that the isolated students are showing mild symptoms, are stable and are doing well. However, the situation is being monitored by the XLRI administration closely to ensure full recovery and rule out any chance of spread. On the other hand, the students who tested negative have been advised to go home and follow COVID-19 norms laid down by the government to curb the spread of the deadly virus.
