CMA Intermediate and Final exams under the June 2022 term started on June 27. Several candidates reported mismanagement and glitches during the online exams.

CMA Exams Mismanaged

CMA students launched an online campaign on Twitter demanding the rollback of the offline exams. This came after the recently conducted online exams for CMA Intermediate and CMA Final course. Several students at multiple locations encountered glitches in the internet connection. Some students had to face denial of entry to the exam hall as the computer systems were not functioning properly. Students called the police when they had been waiting for hours to appear for the online exam. Several students complained that they were told to restart the online exam as the question paper didn’t load completely in the first go. Additionally, students also reported grammatical and spelling errors in the CMA online exam.

CMA Exams Mismanaged

Different parts of the country saw protests by the students seeking the rollback of the offline CMA exams. The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) is yet to speak on the matter. However, students have been planning to gather at Jantar Mantar to protest against the mismanagement of the online exams. Students question the institute on their campaign stating that the CMA is going global. They raised concerns about how the institute will manage globally when the online exams are being mismanaged in the country itself.

Reason for Failure: Lack of Infrastructure for CMA Online Exams

Several CMA alumni state that the reason behind the failure of the online exams is the lack of proper infrastructure to conduct the exam. Several students complained that the computer systems were not functional. In a class area with 20 systems, only five were functional.
