Admissions open for IIM Indore, IIT Indore joint program

IIM Indore and IIT Indore have inked an MoU to offer two years online MS programme in Data Science and Management.

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) Indore and Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Indore are jointly offering Master of Science in Data Science and Management. Both the institutes have notified through their Twitter handles that admissions are open for the two-year online course.

For admission to the course, the Data Science and Management Aptitude Test (DMAT) will be held on July 31 and application windows are extended to July 20 for DMAT applicants for others, the last date to apply is July 30.

The interested candidates need to register online and complete the application form by paying the application fee of INR 1770 (Including GST)(for Indian applicants) or INR 2300 (Including GST) (for International applicants). The application fee would be INR 2360 (Including GST) for those candidates who want to appear in DMAT.

Eligibility Criteria to apply for MS programme in Data Science and Management

Following are the eligibility requirements to apply for the course:

• First class (as defined by the awarding Institute/ University) or 60% or 6.0 CPI /6.0 CGPA (Scale of 10) [Relaxation for the SC/ ST/ PwD category as per Government of India rule] degree in 
• BTech/ BE/ BS/ BPharm/ BArch/ BDes/ BFtech/ Four years BSc/ MSc/ MCA/ MBA OR
• Equivalent to having done at least two courses in Mathematics and one in Computer Programming at a qualifying degree level AND 
• CAT/GATE/GMAT/GRE/JAM test score obtained anytime in the last three years OR DMAT (Data science and Management Aptitude Test) for those candidates who have not appeared in CAT/GATE/GMAT/GRE/JAM.

About DMAT

It will be jointly held by IIT Indore and IIM Indore in a single session at the IIT Indore campus. DMAT will be an OMR- sheet based test. Candidates are not allowed to use mobile phones, calculators etc. during the test. There will be two sections in DMAT

1. Quantitative Ability

2. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning

The exam duration will be 90 minutes and the candidates are expected to solve both these sections within this time. To be considered for an interview, candidates need to score above a certain threshold (as decided by the joint committee) in each of the sections.
