AFCAT 2 2022 Live Updates: Question Paper Analysis, Merit List, Expected Cut off, Student Reaction

Indian Air Force is conducting AFCAT 2 2022 exam to select candidates as commissioned officers in the Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. The exam is being conducted in two shifts-9.45 am to 11.45 am and 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm. Candidates who have opted for the Ground Duty (Technical) branch are required to appear for Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). The overall difficulty level of the paper was easy to moderate. 

The language of the exam is English. A total of 100 questions are asked in the AFCAT exam while EKT carries 50 questions. Candidates get two hours to solve AFCAT paper while 45 minutes for EKT. The test paper of AFCAT comprises questions from General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude test. EKT comprises questions from Mechanical, Computer Science, and Electrical & Electronics. The difficulty level of AFCAT syllabus is of graduation level. The total marks allotted to AFCAT are 300 while EKT carries 150 marks.

    Section-wise AFCAT 2 Exam Analysis 2022 for Shift 1

    The English Language section was Moderate. Questions in this section were asked from error detection, grammar usage, idiom and phrases. The Numerical Ability was of Moderate Level. Most of the questions were based directly on formulas and some were calculative. es vocabulary, etc. The Reasoning questions were of Moderate level.

    Documents required for AFSB

    Candidates are required to bring the following relevant documents, which will be checked during AFSB testing:

    AFCAT Admit Card

    Original Matriculation/ Secondary School Certificate and Mark sheets issued by CBSE/ ICSE/ State Board. No other certificate will be accepted for verification of Date of
    Birth
    Original Marks Sheet & Certificate of 10+2 (issued by the relevant Board)
    Original/ Provisional Graduation Degree/ Post Graduation Degree Certificates and
    Mark Sheet of each year/ semester issued by University - only for verification of educational qualifications to check eligibility for the course. Provisional Certificate issued by college Principal is not acceptable. However, Provisional Degree Certificate issued by the University is acceptable

    In case of final year/ semester students, a Certificate from the College Principal, clearly mentioning the following aspects annotated with proper stamp and seal of the Institution is required:
    (aa) Name of the College
    (ab) Name of the University
    (ac) Discipline in which Graduation/ Post Graduation obtained
    (ad) Aggregate Percentage
    (ae) Likely Date of Declaration of Final Result (in DD/MM/YYYY Format).
    Two attested photocopies of each of the above mentioned certificates

    Duration of AFCAT 2 training

    Training is scheduled to commence in the first week of Jul 2023 for all courses. The approximate duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments.

    The exam pattern was the same as in previous years'. Students found the probability questions to be surprising. The Numerical Ability carried questions from Profit & Loss, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Proportion. Arithematic questions were more in the paper. English carried questions from Antonyms, Synonyms, idioms and phrases, fill in the blanks, jumbled sentence, etc.General Awareness questions were asked from military exercises, government schemes, history. There were very few questions in some sets. In Military Aptitude, there was one questions,'Which company made tejas?' 'Which Aircraft can carry Brahmos?'.
