In the notice, the All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) said, “This is to bring to the notice of General public and stakeholders that the official website of All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) has the URL https://aicte-india.org. It has been observed that some websites with similar-looking URLs like- www.aictsd.comwww.aictetindia.org, etc, do not belong to AICTE.”

“The AICTE is not responsible if a person is fooled by one of two fake sites. Anyone who plans to use the AICTE website in the future should carefully check their credentials before continuing,” read the AICTE statement.

The council had recently issued an advisory to institutions to not run programmes without its prior approval. Issuing a public notice, the technical education regulator had stated that it had come to notice that some of the institutions were offering technical education programmes without approval of the AICTE. The AICTE has asked students to check the approval status of the programme and the institution before pursuing any course.“Any Institution not having prior approval from AICTE and conducting programs / Courses as outlined above, is liable to Punitive / Legal action,” read the notice.
