AICTE writes to Technical Universities to consider midway admission for genuine cases

All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) has written to all Vice-Chancellors, Principals and Directors of AICTE approved technical universities to consider midway admission on genuine cases.

AICTE has observed that many times while pursuing Engineering and other Degrees, due to some unfortunate circumstances, some brilliant students leave their courses midway and due to difficulty in seeking admissions again to technical institutions, these students are not able to complete their education.

The council has received representations from students selected in reputed organisations like NDA and similar other eminent organizations where students have been declared as partially unfit due to injuries and boarded out on medical grounds compulsorily from the organization.

" These candidates also pursue their Diploma BA, B.Sc, B.Tech., M.Tech courses simultaneously with the service from the same organization but, unable to complete it in such circumstances," added the letter.

AICTE requests sympathetic consideration

The letter says that National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 already provides for multiple entries and multiple exits crediting the courses completed in the Academic Bank of Credit and making use of it later, in the same place or elsewhere.

The council has requested the technical universities for sympathetic consideration of such genuine cases for admission through lateral entry at the appropriate level as it will be immensely helpful for the deserving students seeking admission midway to reshape their careers.
