AIIMS Bilaspur inks MoU for specially abled

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bilaspur, has inked an MoU with the National Institute for Empowerment of Person with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD), Dehradun, and the Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Sundernagar, in Mandi district on its campus in Bilaspur.

Prof (Dr) Vir Singh Negi, Executive Director, AIIMS said that the main aim is to provide quality medical care and rehabilitative services for the welfare of specially abled persons.

"AIIMS would provide specialist and super specialist medical care services to specially abled persons at the institute and through outreach programmes in the community," he added as reported by Tribune India.

NIEPVD and CRC would help in providing rehabilitative services and assistive devices to specially abled persons and teleconsultation services would also be made available for better coordination between the institutes.

After June 15, no online registration required for OPD services

The work to start the OPD building at AIIMS Bilaspur from June 15 has intensified. After shifting to the OPD building, people will not have to register online to get examined by a doctor.

The doctors will examine the patients in the OPD throughout the day.

Right now, the situation is that after the online registration, the patients' turn for a check up comes after two and a half weeks. About 350 patients are treated daily.

Presently the temporary OPD is being run in Ayush Bhawan. The crowd is increasing day by day due to the increasing number of patients. Due to the vacant posts of doctors in Bilaspur's hospital, the entire population of the district has to approach AIIMS for a health check-up. Patients are also reaching AIIMS from other districts.
