The teaching and non-teaching staff should start working from home. However, they will not be allowed to leave the station (Prayagraj) during this period.
Amid the surge in COVID cases in Prayagraj, the Allahabad University administration has announced that the work from home will be implemented for all teaching and non-teaching staff of the central varsity from January 10 to January 13.
“During a virtual meeting on Sunday, that was chaired by the vice-chancellor Prof Sangita Srivastava in which a discussion took place on the Covid surge. The meeting also resolved that the teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses shall be continued in online mode, until further notice, and the teaching and non-teaching staff should start working from home. However, they will not be allowed to leave the station (Prayagraj) during this period,” informed AU PRO Prof Jaya Kapoor.
She said that, however, for any urgent nature of work, the offices of finance and registrar shall open on specific days as all e-mails to and from the union ministry of education have to be responded to with utmost sincerity. Work of the engineering department shall continue as has been while the essential services of housekeeping shall also work. For all students the campus and library would be closed,” the PRO explained.
Earlier, the varsity had decided to close its campus for physical classrooms. While only internal official working will be carried out in the offices of the university, no public visitor or outsider will be allowed to enter the campus until further notice. The University has directed all the students to not visit the campus and attend the classes online.
As per the official notification released by Allahabad University earlier, registrar, Professor NK Shukla said that, the teachers, research scholars and administrative staff will be allowed to come to the campus while strictly following Corona-Omicron Guidelines. Further, all students are directed to refrain from coming to the university and advised to take their classes in online mode. However, with the spike in cases, the University decided to allow work from home for teaching, staff and other too.
