BHU to Accept UGC NET, CSIR Scores for PhD Admission 2024; No Entrance Test Required
BHU PhD admission 2024 will be based on UGC/CSIR Net scores for the academic session 2024-25 and no separate research entrance test will be conducted by the university.
"Based on the Public Notification dated March 27, 2024, of the University Grants Commission, the Banaras Hindu University has decided that the score of UGC/CSIR NET Examination, June 2024 shall be used for admission to PhD programme for the academic session 2024-25 and no separate research entrance test will be conducted by the university." The official notification reads.
BHU PhD Admission 2024
BHU PhD admission is offered through two modes:
- Research Entrance Test (RET) Mode
- Research Entrance Test - Exempted (RET-Exempted) Mode.
The JRF-qualified candidates will be considered under the RET Exempted Mode. Furthermore, Candidates qualified for Categories II and III along with JRF-qualified candidates of the UGC/CSIR NET Exam June 2024 shall be eligible for consideration under the RET mode.
BHU has further notified that PhD admission under this mode will be implemented in the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, and Agricultural Services Recruitment Board (ASRB) Examination 2024.
"The candidates are accordingly advised to apply for the UGC/CSIR NET Examinations of June 2024 for getting admission in the PhD programmes at Banaras Hindu University. The previous score of NET shall not be valid for BHU PhD admission 2024-25." The notification further added.
