SPPU Admissions 2021: The Savitribai Phule Pune University and Sancheti Healthcare Academy collaborated on September 8, 2021. According to the official reports, SPPU has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sancheti Healthcare Academy in order to launch a degree course, i.e. ‘BBA in Hospital and Health Care Programme’. The course will be launched at the university soon. Candidates interested in SPPU Admissions 2021 must note that the course will be launched from this academic year and the details will be announced on the university’s website, i.e. www.unipune.ac.in shortly. The course is being launched in order to impart up-to-date and management-oriented education to the students as per the changing technology in the field of health. During the span of course completion, the students will also get the opportunity to do an industry internship.
Meanwhile, the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is also planning to launch its own online platform this month for several courses. The platform will be launched under the name 'Degree Plus'. With job-related skills and added certification becoming increasingly relevant for all students to increase their employability, the SPPU is launching its own platform. Under this platform, Pune University will be offering 500 certificate courses to the students.
According to the Indian Express, while talking about the launch of the platform, SPPU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Nitin Karmalkar said, “During the lockdown, we realised that acceptance of online courses was finally picking up. Today, pure graduation in one subject isn’t enough, students need to pick up several skills and certificates to increase employability and besides that, why not study subjects that they are interested in? That’s why I thought of speaking to online course platforms but I realised that the fees which these platforms charge can be exorbitant… being a state-funded public university, we have to be inclusive and sensitive to all sections of society, especially students from economically weaker sections. We couldn’t expect them to pay such high fees.”
