The move has been taken by the BHU authorities for the students who want to live in hostels as the University is now reopened. BHU just like all other educational institutions reopened after a COVID-19 led to closure.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has been directed to convert three buildings of the South campus and hostel. BHU Vice-Chancellor Sudhir Kumar Jain has announced to set up new hostels to accommodate the students at RGSC. The three buildings of RGSC that will now be converted to hostels are Scientist Hostel, Warden Flat (Female) and Warden Flat (Men).

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting at BHU which was chaired by VC Sudhir K Jain, and along with the directors of institutes, deans of faculties and senior officers of the university came up with the decision to provide these options regarding the BHU end-semester exams.

BHU in the official notification on Twitter and said: "In view of the shortage of hostels in the southern campus of Banaras Hindu University, Barkachha, as per the order of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain, three buildings located on the southern campus - Scientist Hostel, Warden Flat (Female) and Warden Flat (Men) are being converted into hostels. Used to be.”

The move has been taken by the BHU authorities for the students who want to live in hostels as the University is now reopened. BHU just like all other educational institutions reopened after a COVID-19 led closure. BHU announced to reopen all colleges recently as the COVID-19 situation improved in the country.

"The University is working on ensuring that every student gets proper hostel accommodation. BHU in a recent announcement also announced to provide its faculties with the choice of conducting the end semester examinations either in online mode or in open book examination or offline mode exam format. Faculties can also let students choose from online or offline mode," said the VC.
