BJP member from Haryana, Nayab Singh has urged government intervention in ensuring that the Indian students who returned from Ukraine can complete their studies.

Amid the ongoing demand and efforts to help the Indian students who returned from Ukraine to continue their studies, BJP member from Haryana Nayab Singh has sought Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's intervention to ensure that the career of those medical students must not suffer due to the unprecedented situation and they must be able to complete their studies.

Raising the matter under Rule 377, he urged the Centre to ensure that final year students are able to complete their studies, as reported by Indian Express.

After the Russia-Ukraine conflict began, scores of Indian medical students were compelled to leave the troubled country Ukraine and as a result, their studies got disrupted.

Russia offers admission to students returned from Ukraine

Reportedly, colleges in Russia and Crimea have offered admissions to foreign medical students who returned from Ukraine and could not complete their education due to war. They offered admission at no additional cost and without any entrance examination, as reported by TOI.

Nearly 140 Indian students had reached Moldova while evacuation and were directly admitted to the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (SUMP), a government-run institution in Chisinau. Moreover, few Ukraine medical universities are offering online classes to students.

Many states in India have also come in support of these students, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) is starting online courses from April 1, J&K is working with the Centre on policy to help these students complete their studies in India. Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar has assured that arrangements would be made in the state’s medical colleges so that these students can complete their education.
