Railway Station on High Alert After Bomb Threat

In a separate incident earlier in the week, Captain Shashi Kiran, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Western Railway, confirmed that a bomb threat letter was received by the station superintendent at Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. In response, police conducted extensive inspections of the railway station but reported no findings of suspicious materials.

Inspector Subhas Bishnoi from the Railway Police Force (RPF) stated, “We are on high alert. We are checking the luggage of passengers and inspecting areas such as the waiting hall and dustbins with the help of a dog squad.” Passengers have been urged to report any suspicious items as authorities continue their vigilance.

Previous Threats Raise Security Concerns

The spate of bomb threats is not limited to educational institutions and transport hubs. Earlier in September, the Taj West End Hotel in Bengaluru received a bomb threat through email, prompting a swift response from local police and the bomb squad. The hotel, known for hosting prominent figures, was placed under investigation as authorities worked to ensure safety.

Vistara Flight Diversion Highlights Security Risks

Adding to the security concerns, a Vistara flight bound for Frankfurt was diverted to Turkey due to a security issue. All 247 passengers onboard were reported safe as local authorities coordinated to manage the situation. Passengers were deplaned and a search operation was initiated upon landing at Erzurum Airport.
