Students must note that the application window to register for the improvement will remain open until August 22, 2020, up to 5 pm.
The Central Board of Secondary Education, or CBSE, as agreed earlier in the Supreme Court, will allow students to improve their scores of CBSE Class 12 exams with the improvement tests. According to the latest update, the CBSE 12th optional improvement tests will be conducted in the month of September. The Central Board declared CBSE 12th Results 2020 on July 13 and CBSE 10th Results 2020 on July 15. Students who were marked on the basis of the alternate assessment scheme and are not satisfied with their score can apply online for the improvement test and appear for the CBSE 12th improvement exams.
Students must note that the application window to register for the improvement will remain open until August 22, 2020, up to 5 pm. The official statement released by the Board reads, “Candidates whose result has been declared based on the assessment scheme in the subjects for which examination was scheduled from 1st July 2020 to 15th July 2020 and wish to improve their performance.”
The statement further added: “The marks obtained by a candidate in these optional examinations will be treated as final for those who have opted to take these examinations”
Earlier, various media reports suggested that the Board is mulling to defer the compartment exams and improvement exams this year due to the ongoing pandemic situation. However, CBSE in its previous notification made this clear that the Board will be conducting exams for compartmental candidates. “Competent Authority of the CBSE has considered the representations appropriately in view of the above said information and is of the opinion that in case the Compartment examination is not conducted, future of a large number of candidates will be adversely affected being the Classes X and XII. Accordingly, requests received in the form of representations for not holding the examination cannot be acceded to by the CBSE. CBSE will hold the Compartment examination by following the detailed Standard Operating Procedures keeping in view the COVID-19 pandemic,” the notice stated.
