CBSE has enrolled over 2,600 CBSE schools across the country for the initial phase of online orientation program.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) launched ‘Adolescent peer educator’s leadership program in life skills, holistic health and wellbeing.’ According to the Board, the course will amplify students’ mental well-being, self-esteem, resilience, social sensitivity, better communication skills, enhanced ability, set goals and lead a socially productive life.
CBSE has enrolled over 2,600 CBSE schools across the country for the initial phase of online orientation program. The participants will attend the ongoing training program in batches with 8-hour training sessions spread over 4 days. CBSE will train two school counsellors/ wellness teacher / nodal teachers and 4 peer educators on 4 modules and 8 themes. The themes revolve around dealing with emotions, the impact of the digital world, building resilience, nutrition, hygiene, family bonding and effective career choices. With the help of feedback and suggestions received from peer educators, the Board will evolve the theme.
Orientation modules of the program will also be included which would further serve as an Interactive Chat-Line Platform for contact, guidance, and life skills for 21st-century learners. On the official website of the Board, the participants may find a dedicated web page carrying advisory, practical tips, posters, videos, FAQs, and online interactive platform for various aspects of life skills, mental health, and wellbeing.
The program will also include short modules on various aspects of psychosocial and allied healthy behaviour in minimizing risks in children and adolescents along with short films prepared by students. An opportunity will be given to peer educators to showcase their talent in the Young Film Maker’s Festival.
