CBSE’s circular highlights the significant impact of errors during this process, which can lead to major disruptions for both students and schools. The board has noted an alarming trend of parents submitting incorrect information, such as names, dates of birth, and subjects.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an urgent reminder to parents regarding the accurate submission of data for student registration and the List of Candidates (LoC) for the upcoming board exams. This notification specifically concerns students in Classes 9 and 11 for registration and Classes 10 and 12 for LoC submission.
Consequences of Incorrect Submissions
CBSE’s circular highlights the significant impact of errors during this process, which can lead to major disruptions for both students and schools. The board has noted an alarming trend of parents submitting incorrect information, such as names, dates of birth, and subjects. Once the registration and LoC processes are finalized, no requests for data corrections will be entertained, especially after the results are declared.
Guidelines for Parents
To mitigate these issues, CBSE has outlined essential steps for parents:
- Ensure that your child’s name, date of birth, and parents’ names are accurate and fully spelled out—short names should not be used.
- Pay special attention to surnames, especially for students planning to study abroad, as many countries require full surnames on official documents.
- Double-check the date of birth, ideally cross-verifying it against any existing passports.
CBSE also emphasizes the importance of selecting subjects carefully for Classes 10 and 12, stating, “No change will be accepted after the LoC submission.”
Registration and LoC Submission Deadlines
- Classes 9 and 11: Students must complete their registration on CBSE’s official website by October 16, 2024. A late registration window is available until October 24, 2024, with additional fees applicable.
- Classes 10 and 12: The deadline for submitting the LoC without late fees is October 4, 2024. However, submissions with late fees can be made until October 15, 2024.
Parents are encouraged to visit their child’s school to assist in the timely and accurate submission of all required data, ensuring a smooth process for their educational journey.
