CBSE exams are specifically for private candidates who missed the practical component of their exams due to various reasons such as repeat in practical (RP), repeat in practical and theory (RB), or absence during the exams. Additionally, students who applied for practical exams in 2022 will also be eligible to participate in these practical exams.
CBSE Practical Exam 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced that it will conduct practical exams for private students from February 15 to March 15, 2025. The exams are specifically for private candidates who missed the practical component of their exams due to various reasons such as repeat in practical (RP), repeat in practical and theory (RB), or absence during the exams. Additionally, students who applied for practical exams in 2022 will also be eligible to participate in these practical exams.
CBSE Practical Exam 2025 Guidelines for Private Students
According to the CBSE, the practical exams will be conducted only for subjects that have a practical component. For subjects that do not have a practical component, the board will not conduct internal assessments. Instead, the marks will be computed based on the student's performance in the theory exams.
Private candidates will appear for their practical exams at the same exam centers where their theory exams will be conducted. These centers will be assigned by CBSE, and the practical exams will take place as per the fixed schedule. Private candidates are required to contact their respective exam centers with a copy of their previous result or marksheet and the CBSE admit card for 2025.
Important Instructions for Students
The CBSE has urged private students to note down the date and time of their practical exams, as specified by their assigned exam centers. Students are also instructed to report to the exam center on time to avoid any confusion or delays.
The CBSE further emphasized that after the practical exams are conducted, the exam centers must upload the marks for private students immediately on the day of the exam. The marks will be uploaded once the internal and external examiners have signed off on the award lists.
CBSE Guidelines for Examination Centers
The CBSE has also issued detailed instructions for the examination centers to follow in order to ensure the smooth conduct of the practical exams. The center superintendent will be responsible for preparing a class-wise and subject-wise list of students whose practical exams are scheduled. The superintendent is required to contact the regional office ahead of time to appoint the external examiner. It is crucial that external examiners are appointed by the CBSE regional offices, and not by the examination centers themselves.
The date and time for the practical exams will be set in accordance with the availability of the external examiner, the convenience of the students, and the theory exam dates. The examination centers will be responsible for informing students about the practical exam schedule well in advance.
Role of Regional Offices
CBSE regional offices will be tasked with compiling the list of students, informing them of their pending practical exams, and ensuring timely appointment of external examiners. They will also oversee the completion of the practical exams and the uploading of student marks to the CBSE portal before the deadline.
The CBSE has emphasized that the cooperation of all parties involved—school officials, examiners, and students—is critical to ensuring the practical exams run smoothly and are completed on time.
The upcoming CBSE practical exams for private students are designed to offer an opportunity for candidates who missed their practicals in previous years to complete this crucial component. By adhering to the guidelines set out by the CBSE, the process aims to be transparent, efficient, and fair, ensuring that all students have the chance to demonstrate their skills and complete their assessments successfully.
