An image of a chapter on dating and relationship from a Class 9 textbook went viral on social media lately. Refuting the claims, the CBSE board said it does not publish books and that a section of media is “wrongly attributing” a book to be a publication of CBSE.
CBSE Board Exam 2024 from February 15, 2024. Ahead of Board Exams, controversies are housing the central board. Amid all the chaos created behind CBSE Class 9 chapters on dating and relationships, the Board has released clarification on the issue stating it to be “wrongly attributed”.

Viral image gets mixed response
Several reports lauded and called it a progressive approach taken by the board. Reacting to the pictures on the Class 9 book, Tinder India, a dating app, commented: “next chapter : how to deal with breakups” along with a crying smiley.
The contents of the chapter that went viral on the internet surprised many. People even questioned if “it was real” Dating terms like ghosting, catfishing and cyberbullying are also explained in the chapter. It also has short stories explaining teenage love.
CBSE Clarifies
Following this, the CBSE on its X account posted, “A section of media is wrongly attributing a book to be a publication of CBSE containing objectionable material on dating and relationships according to the reports. This is totally baseless and incorrect. The contents of the chapter which are going viral on Social Media are in fact from a book titled A Guide to Self Awareness and Empowerment written by Gagan Deep Kaur and Published by G.Ram Books(P)Ltd. Educational Publishers. The CBSE neither publishes any books nor recommends books of any private publishers.”
CBSE Admit Card 2024 Awaited!
CBSE Admit Card 2024 Class 10, 12 is still awaited. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to commence CBSE 10th 12th board exam 2024 from February 15, 2024. CBSE admit card 2024 for private and regular students is an important document. No student will be allowed to appear for CBSE Board Exam 2024 without the hall ticket. Once released, CBSE admit card 2024 will be available on the official website of CBSE, i.e. cbse.gov.in. Meanwhile, CBSE Board Exam 2024 roll numbers are already shared by the Board with the schools. While the CBSE admit card 2024 for regular students will be distributed by the schools, CBSE private candidate admit card 2024 will be released online on the official website for students to download.
