The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a show cause notice to 34 schools across the country for failing to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in its Affiliation Bye-Laws, 2018. This move reflects the board's commitment to maintaining high standards in education and ensuring that affiliated institutions follow the prescribed guidelines.

CBSE Issues Warning on Unauthorized Sports Events

In a related matter, CBSE has also cautioned schools against unknowingly participating in sports events organized by the 'CBSE Board School Games Welfare Society (CBSE-WSO)' based in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The board clarified that this organization is not affiliated with CBSE, and any association with it or participation in its sports competitions could lead to consequences.

Importance of Compliance with CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws

The CBSE referred to its earlier Circular No. 04/2019, dated January 30, 2019, which emphasizes the critical need for compliance with the Affiliation Bye-Laws. According to Clause No. 12 of the Bye-Laws, any violation of these rules will be treated as a breach, and necessary action will be taken under Chapter 12 of the Affiliation Bye-Laws, 2018.

Accountability of School Heads in Ensuring Compliance

Furthermore, the CBSE reminded school authorities of their responsibility in ensuring strict adherence to its regulations. As per Clause No. 9.2 of the Affiliation Bye-Laws, the heads of affiliated schools are directly accountable for ensuring that all provisions and directives issued by the board are followed meticulously.
