Schools must ensure that all data, including the subjects for each student, is accurately submitted today to avoid any complications later.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to close the window today for the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) by schools. This crucial process allows schools to register eligible students for the Class 10 and 12 Board examinations. Schools must ensure that all data, including the subjects for each student, is accurately submitted today to avoid any complications later.

Importance of Accurate Data Submission

Once submitted, the subjects listed in the LOC cannot be modified. Students will have the option to choose whether to appear for the subjects indicated in the LOC during the main examinations. However, the results will be declared according to the CBSE Examination Bye-Laws. Any changes to subjects will only be permitted after the main examinations, and those students will then be eligible to take the corrected subjects in the Supplementary examinations.

Guidance for School Principals

To ensure compliance with the CBSE’s directives, school principals have been instructed to obtain a report confirming the submission of the LOC. This step is vital to guarantee that all submissions align with the guidelines issued by the board. In addition, CBSE has released a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to aid schools in navigating the LOC procedures effectively.

Critical Timeline and No Extensions

The submission of the LOC is a mandatory requirement for schools wishing to register students for the upcoming board examinations. CBSE emphasized that only students whose names are included in the online LOC will be permitted to sit for the exams. The data submission process commenced on September 5, 2024, and concludes today, October 4, 2024. The board has stated clearly that no extensions will be granted, urging schools to complete their submissions within the specified timeframe.

Ensuring Examination Readiness

By following the outlined guidelines, schools can help maintain the integrity and accuracy of the LOC data, which is essential for the effective planning and administration of the CBSE Class 10 and 12 examinations for the 2024-2025 academic year.
