While answering about the pending CBSE 10th and CBSE 12th exams, the HRD Minister announced that the Central Board of Secondary Education is working on to reduce the syllabus for the new academic session.
The Human Resource and Development Minister, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ conducted a live webinar for students on his social media portal. Students from all across the country attended the session and posted their queries related to postponed exams, delayed results, new academic sessions and more amid the prevailing emergency situation due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
While answering about the pending CBSE 10thand CBSE 12th exams, the HRD Minister announced that the Central Board of Secondary Education is working on to reduce the syllabus for the new academic session.
Due to the nationwide lockdown announced in the wake of the coronavirus crisis, the new academic session in schools, which ideally would have started in April, is delayed. While some schools started taking the classes for the new session through online methods, there are many schools that are not able to replicate the process.
Due to the loss of instructional time available for this session, students and parents are worried about the completion of the curriculum in time. In the midst of the ongoing confusion, the Education Minister said that CBSE will assess the loss of instructional time for the new academic session and will suggest a proportional reduction in curriculum load for exams. He further added that the Course Committees of the Board have already started work on the reduced syllabus in various scenarios.
Other major announcements made by the HRD Minister during the webinar included exam dates for JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020. The minister also revealed that the CBSE will be releasing revised CBSE Class 10 Date Sheet 2020 and CBSE Class 12 Date Sheet 2020 for the pending exams. The announcement regarding the cancellation of CBSE 10th Board Exams all across the country except for the North-East Delhi students was also made yesterday during the live session.
