The CBSE secretary wrote a four-page long letter to the students talking about the ‘golden opportunity’ they have got with this lockdown.

The nation is under lockdown for the next 21 days. Schools, universities and other academic institutions are shut until April 14. While some state boards postponed the annual examinations, there are many education boards that decided to promote the students to higher standards without examination. Postponed exams or promoted classes, students are going to stay at home until the lockdown is over. Amid this chaos, Anurag Tripathi, the Secretary of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), shared a positive message for all the students.

Anurag wrote a four-page long letter to the students talking about the ‘golden opportunity’ they have got with this lockdown. In his letter, he stated that the lockdown brought a ‘golden inconvenience’ for the students as well as the teachers. With this unlimited time that anyone rarely gets, Anurag advised the student to utilize this time. According to the letter, Anurag expressed that amid this lockdown, students have unlimited time in which they can polish their skills, learn new things, with a ‘home-like laboratory’ and ‘the internet full of resources from all over the world’.

He also advised students to join online classes, follow their passion and practice their hobbies like dancing, singing, painting, etc. The entire house can be treated as a learning centre. With e-classes, activities, projects, fun, games, video games, skill puzzles, and many more such activities, students can convert this lockdown period into a period of learning, understanding, and exploring new things.

Giving directions on how one could start his/her day, he suggested starting the day with some light physical activities, meditation, and yoga. Tripathi also suggested students help their families with household chores. Meanwhile, he mentioned that CBSE has started various e-learning classes and students can gather a lot of knowledge with them.
