The Uttar Pradesh government on April 14 announced the promotion of all the students studying in class 6 to 9 and class 11 to higher standards without examination. The declaration regarding the promotion of the students came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended the nationwide lockdown until May 3 in order to contain the spread of the contagious COVID-19 virus.
According to the reports, the Deputy Chief Minister of UP, Dinesh Sharma, who also holds the portfolio of the secondary education department, issued the order at a review meeting. Along with the promotion of the students, the orders also state that students from classes 9 to 12 will be taught via e-learning and virtual classes through WhatsApp from April 20. In the midst of closed schools, suspended classes and canceled exams, the government is trying its best to continue the learning process among the students.
The teaching staff of both private and government schools is instructed to explore different ways to conduct interactive classroom sessions and impart education online. According to the official press release. Mr Sharma stated that the Uttar Pradesh board students can be taught with the help of e-content at Diksha portal. The minister added, ‘an action plan should be prepared for its implementation as soon as possible so that students of classes 6-8 can be benefited by it.’
Earlier, the Deputy CM also stated that UP Board 10th results 2020 and UP Board 12th results 2020 will be declared soon. Talking about the suspended evaluation work of UP Board class 10, 12 papers, he added that The Board will resume the evaluation work once the lockdown is over.
