In his interactive session, Secretary Chopra highlighted the long-term consequences of cheating on a student's mental and academic growth. “Cheating obstructs mental development and creates dependence rather than self-reliance,” he said. He stressed that it is the responsibility of teachers and educational institutions to eradicate cheating from its roots and to raise awareness among students about its damaging effects.

Chopra also acknowledged the importance of community support, urging the active involvement of social institutions such as parents, panchayat members, and SMC representatives. “With the full cooperation of panchayats and school management committees, we can collectively help in eradicating this evil from the examination process,” he stated.

Steps Taken by Haryana Board to Ensure Fair Exams

The Board Secretary also instructed school authorities to ensure that CCTV cameras are installed at examination centers to monitor the exam process. Furthermore, he urged that pre-board exams be conducted in a completely cheating-free environment, allowing students to prepare thoroughly for the official examinations.

Chopra mentioned that the Board has already implemented several administrative reforms aimed at preventing duplication in the examination system. While these reforms have seen success, he emphasized that the true solution to cheating lies in fostering moral values among students, which can ultimately create a culture of honesty and integrity.
