In this exclusive interview, Yashvi Bagrecha shares her journey, strategies, and aspirations, offering invaluable insights for aspiring students preparing for the CISCE Board Exams 2025.
Yashvi Bagrecha, a stellar achiever from VIBGYOR High, Goregaon, emerged as a shining beacon of excellence in the 2024 CISCE board exams. These examinations, administered by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), witnessed outstanding accomplishments with a remarkable pass percentage of 99.47% for ICSE (Class 10) and 98.19% for ISC (Class 12). Amidst this academic triumph, Yashvi Bagrecha distinguished herself by securing an impressive 99.60% in the ICSE Class 10 examination, setting a standard of excellence for her peers.
Q. Could you provide some insight into your family background?
Yashvi Bagrecha: My father is a Chartered Accountant who secured All-India Ranks in both Grade 10 and 12. My brother, who held the third All-India Rank in Grade 10, is currently pursuing Chartered Accountancy. My mother, a creative individual, ensures unwavering support towards our aspirations. Alongside academics, I pursued Kathak as a passion and cleared my Madhyama Poorna Kathak Examination Level 5 in November 2023.
Q. Could you elaborate on your chosen stream? Was it your preference, and what was your score?
Yashvi Bagrecha: I opted for the Science stream due to my profound interest in its subjects. I achieved a score of 99 in Science.
Q. What strategies did you employ to score above 90%?
Yashvi Bagrecha: My strategy revolves around maintaining a balanced approach and acknowledging the significance of breaks. Eschewing external tuition, I prioritized clarifying doubts with my teachers to avoid rote memorization. Taking notes of crucial points while studying aided my preparation, preventing the need for excessive cramming. I firmly believe that excessive studying isn't imperative for obtaining high marks, as it tends to overwhelm the mind.
Q. Who provided the most encouragement during this journey?
Yashvi Bagrecha: My parents and teachers played pivotal roles in nurturing and realizing my potential. My primary motivation stemmed from surpassing my brother's achievement, who secured 99.4%.
Q. Could you outline your routine during CISCE board exam preparation?
Yashvi Bagrecha: I adhered to an early morning study routine, commencing around 5 am to maximize productivity. Like many students, overcoming distractions, particularly mobile usage, posed a significant challenge.
Q. What are your aspirations for the future, and which career path do you intend to pursue?
Yashvi Bagrecha: I aim to pursue Science for FYJC and aspire to become a Product Designer.
Q. Are you preparing for CUET? What are your expectations, and are you adequately prepared? Will you be pursuing JEE or NEET? Why have you chosen higher education in this field?
Yashvi Bagrecha: Initially torn between Engineering and Design, I ultimately chose my true interest. Hence, I'm not preparing for JEE. Design is often misconceived as a field for 'low performing students,' but its demand for innovation and creativity resonates with me.
Q. Which courses and universities are you targeting?
Yashvi Bagrecha: I aspire to secure admission in NID (Ahmedabad) or IIT for Product Design.
Q. Can you share some advice for students preparing for CISCE Board Exams 2025?
Yashvi Bagrecha: My foremost suggestion is to avoid succumbing to stress, heed teachers' guidance, and maintain a steady pace. Treating Board exams akin to any other test can alleviate undue pressure. Additionally, commencing studies earlier can prevent last-minute rushes, a lesson I learned from personal experience.
