There are 26 IB schools currently authorised for the IB’s Career-related Programme (CP) in India, and in the next five years, the IB aims to expand into 100 new CP schools.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) which has recently collaborated with the Delhi Government to offer its curriculum in Delhi schools has also announced that it has collaborated with Andhra Pradesh to offer curriculum in government-run schools.

At present, over 26 schools are authorized to offer this programme in India. Interest spans across major cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar, and many others.

The internationally recognised programme has an overwhelming global presence and following among parents and students with 370 authorised schools under the programme, globally. As of October 2023, there were over 8,000 IB programmes being offered worldwide, across over 5,700 schools in 159 countries.

“The IB has been operating in India since 1976 with over 378 IB programmes across more than 220 schools. It has successfully launched several prominent programmes in schools across major cities in India, including Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, and many others. Our collaboration with WACP provides an opportunity for schools to gain deeper insights into the unique CP qualification and how its curriculum can empower both students and teachers to better prepare for the evolving demands of the future workforce,” said Haif Bannayan, Global Director of Business Development, IB.

“We aim to equip the students with a strong foundation in diverse career paths accessible immediately after grade 10, including Sports Management, Artificial Intelligence, Business Administration, Data Science & Business Analytics, Nutrition & Dietetics, Event Management, and others. Our mission is to empower schools and equip students for the dynamic workforce of the future, as demonstrated by the programme's expanding footprint. The IBCP programme resonates with the New Education Policy’s (NEP) 2020 vision of fostering holistic, inquiry-based, and multidisciplinary education, emphasizing career readiness and skill development from early stages” says Dr. Balkishan Sharma, Founder - WACP.
