Kotak Education Foundation celebrates RIZE 2024: Honoring 1,000 New Scholars

The Kotak Education Foundation (KEF), the CSR arm of Kotak Mahindra Group, recently hosted its annual scholarship felicitation ceremony, RIZE 2024, celebrating the achievements of 1,000 new scholars from economically disadvantaged backgrounds across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This event highlighted KEF’s commitment to fostering educational excellence and holistic development among its beneficiaries.

Transformative Power of Scholarships 

Jayasree Ramesh, Executive Committee Member and Director of Education Programme and Scholarship at KEF, remarked, “These 1,000 Kotak Junior Scholars exemplify the transformative power of education. Our scholarship program serves as a gateway to a world of infinite possibilities, empowering these scholars to become the leaders of tomorrow.”

Star Power Inspires Scholars 

The ceremony featured special guest Ayush Mehra, a well-known actor and content creator, who inspired attendees with his engaging presence. Known for his roles in popular series like *Minus One* and *Call My Agent*, he took time to interact with each scholar, offering encouragement and motivation throughout the event.

Cultural Performances and Inspirational Speeches 

The event opened with a traditional Ganesh Vandana performed by Dr. Swapanokalpa Dasgupta’s dance troupe, setting a celebratory tone. Alumni speaker Amol Bandagale shared heartfelt gratitude for the Kotak Junior Scholarship's holistic focus on student development. Additionally, Sanjay Shripat Rao Kaatkar, Commissioner of Mira Bhayandar Corporation, delivered an inspiring address, urging scholars to pursue their goals with determination.

Shivaji Dam, Managing Trustee of KEF, spoke about the foundation's long-standing impact through the Kotak Junior Scholarship program. He emphasized KEF's ongoing commitment to nurturing young minds. Mr. Chetan Savla, President of Sustainability and Strategic Projects at Kotak Mahindra Bank, also inspired the audience, highlighting the program's growth and its vital role in supporting students.

A Supportive Framework for Scholars 

The Kotak Junior Scholarship provides financial aid of ₹73,500 over 21 months, along with comprehensive support including mentoring, career guidance, and exam preparation. With over a decade of experience, KEF has supported more than 3,600 scholars, fostering a network of over 800 successful alumni.
